I'm glad that you, having a male and a female character, decided to show the underwear version of the former. Makes me have some faith there won't be a... pervasive creepy undertone in how different genders are portrayed.

I'm assuming it's stone based on the pores on the... um... fuller?

I think not, but since we get a Cash Shop I would assume either dye or costumes to be purchasable there.
In case we get dye I hope there won´t be something crazy like pink 😆

      Looks awesome! Can´t wait 🙂

Pink.. when I google it, I found that you can use: "berries, cherries, red and pink roses, avocado skins and seeds" to make it. Sounds like a possible colour to me ;D

It would be fun if part of the gathering skill also allowed for dying of mats.

You also forgot THE FLAYED FLESH OF YOUR ENEMIES. You have to lay it in thick layers, though, so Saint Duncan Rhodes is going to be most disconsolate.

      Hej!

      mapa drogowa

...to w 2019 wychodzi dopiero alfa (mamy obsuwę o miesiąc), a najtańszy dostęp do alfy w 2019 kosztuje 90€.

      @Dybuk This:

I hope that dungeons won't be just "move forward -> kill everything -> repeat".

      and this:

That it will require a bit of planning, preparation and dedication. Not just mindless button spamming.

doesn't have to be mutually exclusive, does it? One can do a lot with tricky enemy teamups, tricky terrain setup, or both.

But I agree with you - puzzles would be nice. I never got to raiding in any multiplayer game, but I have many a few a tiny handful of fond memories of doing Spy missions in Warframe(1).

I heard that roguelike-ish roguelite Unexplored has procedurally generated, multi-floor puzzles that are not just "paste puzzle vault here", so there's already prior art for Dynamight to take notes from.

Speaking of which: I really hope Dynamight has some traditional roguelike nerds on the team, if they're tackling procedurally generated dungeons. There are two reasons:

      1. roguelike renaissence has produced a lot of useful know-how in that area, and a lot of creators share their findings freely,
      2. "proc-gen" is a bit of a dirty word for MMO veterans, because it has been implemented poorly in past titles(2).

      (1) And a lot of awful memories of uncooperative randos ruining them by acting like blind idiots. -_-

      (2) If r/MMORPG is to be believed, at any rate.

@eurav Ah, yes, the God of Evolutionary Psychology, where Universal Panhuman Truths are derived from your local zeitgeist, and the difference between a man and a woman is unimaginably insurmountable, while the difference between a human, a wolf and a lobster is so neglible it could not exist at all.

@Crowdac I was expecting a proposal that missed @FibS's thread about other Beastmen races, but found a shitpost.
I'm not disappointed, I'm not mad, I'm not impressed - I'm just surprised to find one so early.

@logain said in Ranking against total population:

@troismurs said in Ranking against total population:

(...)it helps provide players and money(...)

I'd dare to argue that there is a potential benefit to this, but limited.
Whereas there is a far greater potential in being able to reveal more, visual appealing, content (gameplay videos), which requires a lot of effort and manpower.
Or in other terms, it gets you a lot more players to show progress on developing the game then having a decent foundation-leaderboard.

To look at the issue from another point of view: the Foundation incentivizes future players to keep the community going and to have the game in mind before there's any actual content for most people to engage.

In other words, it helps the community to form earlier, and keeps the game from being forgotten. Once a game becomes playable (and the content drip is not too slow) usually both issues take care of themselves, which makes the Foundation:

      1. superfluous (no amount of rewards can save you if you don't have the stuff),
      2. potentially harmful (you can't keep giving away premium items and premium currency forever without them losing their value and impact),
      3. I have a third thing on the back of my mind, but I'm too sauna'd to actually express it (shame on me).

After your post I think I will look into it, hope I'm not too late and the game will still exist.

I mean, Blizzard cut off e-sports funding and said they are going to move HotS devs to other projects, so you have at least a couple of months left to try it.

Couple of months with no new releases and (probably) progressively longer and longer queue times, but a couple months nonetheless.

This game looks promising, when it will be launched ?

Here's the offical article which has the Roadmap:
road map from Fractured news article "Development Roadmap - From Alpha to Release"
(Please note that we're currently in pre-Alpha, not Alpha 1 - Test 1, so there's a minor delay here.)

If you take a look at this and cross-reference it with Pledge Packs, then you'll see that:

      • the full release is going to happen in the latter half of 2021 and you'll have to pay whatever price Dynamight is going to settle on,
      • you can pay at least €25 to start playing (with minimum bugs) in late 2020/early 2021,
      • you can pay at least €50 to start playing (with some missing systems) in early 2020,
      • you can pay at least €90 to start playing (with a lot of bugs) in late 2019,
      • you can pay at least €150 to start "playing" (during a time of turmoil) pretty darn soon.

This doesn't really suprise me. Blizzard is becoming more intertwined with Activision and seemingly more profit driven. Earlier in the year they held a company wide meeting and surprised employees with the announcement that one of their goals moving forward was cutting costs and saving money and putting more emphasis on showing growth. It explains their entry in mobile gaming; large amounts of money to be made for less costs.

Wow, I heard about the Diablo Immortal/Blizzcon debacle, but that insider knowledge is news to me.

    • Heroes of the Storm has apparently entered a death spiral

For those who care about Blizzard's MOBA Heroes of the Storm, Blizzard made an announcement they are shifting devs from HotS to other projects, and that they are shutting down e-sports for 2019.
They are assuring the community that this is only a minor adjustment, but you don't make an announcement for a minor adjustment, so even people who don't care about e-sports are panicking ("HotS was already understaffed!", "They made similar announcement before they abandoned Diablo 3!").

That makes me sad. Even though I have barely played the game this year due to Real Life, it really was my absolutely favourite MOBA. The game did away with many peculiar abstract mechanics passed down from the original DotA and made them more tangible (walls, mercenaries, and map objectives instead of "tower will target heroes first", jungle gold gain, and Nashor/Roshan buff). Addition of mounts reduced annoying downtime, removal of last-hitting made the game less stressful, and replacing individual levels with a team-wide level nudged players from endless arguments over kill-stealing and babysitting your carry, to jolly co-operation. And, of course, there's also Abathur.

HotS showed me how incredibly enjoyable MOBA could be.

And now, it seems that 2018's spell of rough time (early-year removal of ammo on towers, mid-year broken match-making, late-year fort changes) is not going to end any time soon, and the game is going to be dead in a very near future.

      ...

I really hope Fractured won't die before I can binge on it properly. 😛
