    • RE: ceracsi compagnia x questa alpha

@Alexian said in Zenith (Meridian) - a nexus of community, diplomacy & trade:

Zenith, capital of Meridian, has officially been claimed for the Spring 2021 Alpha!

      • It includes three major resources stone, iron, and tin deposits
      • Its soil is moderately fertile
      • It is strategically defensible with respect to sieges
      • It is reasonably close to various points of interest, including Goblin Hills and the Vale of Shadows

Zenith and Meridian are both open to solo players and other guilds who don't want the hassle of maintaining their own city.

      Ciao!

I'll try to make one during next alpha test, but until then you can check for any free macro recorder software on Google and play with it 😜

At last, you can use a macro software and map WASD to left-click few pixel off the center of the screen (where character is) in the correct direction...

      Good, not gold...

Unfortunatly, this is where malicious bots and hacks begins.
Real money is always a nest for toxic gamestyle.

but if you play an MMO and after a year of loot you loose everything, the first thing you think about is to rage-quit the game...

Then you are playing the wrong game from beginning. 🤷‍♂️

Alos remember, if you are that terrified of loosing your stuff, you can play on Arboreus and be "safe". Occasionally take adventures on other worlds, and even if you are killed there, you still return to Arboreus after, where your home is waiting for you, safe.

I'm not worried about the challenge, as punishing as it is, I just don't have the time. I won't start fresh, when I can barely play few hours a day. That's why I won't play on Thartaros for sure. I just wonder if you're not asking for Syndesia to become as mush hardcore as Thartaros would probably already be.

You can be motivated, without having any downside... I personally don't understand this modern concept in MMOs.

The game, or the guild itself, could provide a prize to win a siege, both defending town or conquering it...

I think that being able to loot the banks when you take a town should be part of the spoils of war.

That would work only in games where there is periodically a full reset for anybody, but if you play an MMO and after a year of loot you loose everything, the first thing you think about is to rage-quit the game...
That would mean there won't be guild competition, just a big one owning the game.

Getting a city should net you, the victor, some tangible rewards.

You won the siege, the town, town resources, and you'll slow down competitors. That's ENOUGH!
At last, you probably deserve an additionally full-generated prize.

Rember that MMO doesn't expect any "winner", just competition... and too much of it become toxic!

I think multiple free fournaces could push people to try taking over resources sites, and create the bad mood many people seems to be already worried about...
Public stations are a good idea to give same advantage to everybody, but without good limitation on what people can do in their plots could be workarounds to these attempts

    • Few more questions...
      1. Is there a limit to guests you can add to your plot?
      2. If any city's plot owner adds all his mates to it as guests, does it means he can build private crafting stations, using it as a workaround to new taxed public stations?
      3. Are personal crafting stations taxed too?

At the moment, the only risk is that a big guild could take control out of the others outnumbering citizens, and I think there's no way yet to prevent that...

@Elex that's exactly what I tried, even before this last spotlight, to think about in THIS TOPIC and other people are suggesting here: an economic alliance between smaller guilds should work, trying not to give big guilds the possibility to outnumbers other citizen groups.

We just need to learn the best way to do that... And I think this alpha-test will be a great opportunity to do so!

After release, you will be able to play in Arboreus and have all the space you need for soloing, without competiting with any other big guild.
I think this os the answer you're looking for...

    • RE: Nexus - Neutral alliance city

@Ostaff That's great, I think cities like the one I mentioned will become easier to exists!

      • There are enough plots for more than just a house-per-guild
      • Guilds cities will be more targettable for sieges then before, because of (potentially) smaller number of people joining them, making them less defendable.
      • That makes neutral cities a good place where people would stock up their resources, and protect them together each other...
      • The risk a guild would outnumber the others taking control is less feasable due to the interests of the many to prevent it happening.
      • Free-for-all crafting stations will give less importance to direct citizenship itself.

I think even big guilds will partecipate, if this city would be built in a middle-area, isn't it?

And if you play a good co-ownership of plots, you can actually live in more then one city (both neutral alliance and guild personal cities).
Resources will be still a problem to manage to, but they can be "politically" partitioned between city's exponents.

    • RE: Nexus - Neutral alliance city

I know there are many working in progress, in fact I'm speculating on "how will be" instead of "how it is" (and of course many things will still change afterall).

@Ostaff said in Nexus - Neutral alliance city:

Co-Owning a house does not allow that player citizenship rights.

That's huge!! I really want to know that for sure...

You can co-own as many plots of land as you like and still have your own personal plot.

We'll see if that's "alpha" stuff, or will be released like that. Normally I would prefer to limit plots to give more chanses to people to find space for them selves, otherwise I'm pretty sure best plots will be taken in early game and become frustrating for future players...
I would like to have many of them anyway...

As for permissions on city assets... they are still working that out. Currently there are many assets that can not be shared at all within a city. Some things, such as Forges and Tanning Tubs will probably have a completely different set of permissions set on them as they are very time consuming to use.

This is more a consequence of the other two points, will become important later on...

@GamerSeuss said in Nexus - Neutral alliance city:

Ok, so when you Own a House, you can have 1 Co-Owner, which allows that Co-Owner to build on your plot of land, it shows up on their map as a home icon, etc...

I think that means co-owners won't be able to have a personal plot...

Other buildings however, are governed by towns, and the Governor can set them to Public or Citizen (not sure what else as I haven't been a Governor yet)

I need to get familiarity with those options too

In your Player Owned house/Plot, if you build a workbench, you can set it to You only(which if I remember automatically shares it with Co-Owners), Party, Guild, Friend, or Everyone. This is often how Chests are utilized, but of course, direct trading will make Chests less essential in this regard.

      Got it.

@GamerSeuss said in Nexus - Neutral alliance city:

you have the ability to Share ownership of a plot, but you have to individually invite a co-owner, and I believe your only allowed 1 other owner per plot.

I'm still stucked thinking about this statement...
Do you mean plots can be co-owned with only 1 other person, but still joinable by many? Or is it restricted to prevent that much only 2 mates can enter/use it?

If the first one is the case, that means it's possible to have ambassador as owner, with guild leader as co-owner (and that's the goal anyway), but still other guild member would be able to join the building and use crafting station.
But there are more questions coming out then...

7: Is there a way citizens guests will be able to inherit the usability of city working stations? Is there any workaround it could work instead, like setting them public or be extendable to citizens' guilds or guests?
8: Will co-owners be prevented to build their own houses on same restricted area (same planet, or whatever was it)?

Unfortunatly it seems I cannot edit my first post anymore, making these last questions more visible...
