RE: Will Fractured be what Albion Online tried to be?
Definitely not. Fractured's take on the full loot mmo-arpg genre is very different from Albion's. I don't know what you imagined Albion to be but don't expect Fractured to blow up as a mainstream game. So far the mechanics and details in Fractured seems to be more geared towards a niche playerbase.

RE: Role play?
Of course, why won't people role play? Some people play online games to experience a life of a completely different character. Immersion is a large part of how many people think about the quality of the game. If people are able to immerse themselves within their character, it means that there is probably a good enough system for them to role play as their character!

@esher yeah, sorry I didn't explain properly, was typing this on my phone outside! xD

RE: Secret ways in dungeons
I think this would actually be a really cool idea if it worked in tandem with the world outside. Would be cool if you had to discover something in order to enter the side path or what not.

RE: How did you hear about this game?
I actively seek out games even ones in development (especially because I do game design in my spare time too).

RE: How big is the world? By square km
No idea atm, but even if it is measured in km, the scaling for size is vastly different across games and how they create a feeling of distance. A regular player's screen might be 20m wide/high in some games while 40m in others. It happens all the time and I don't really think devs scale the character/world to real size so... Plus you can have a whole ton of barren land and call your game "large" in terms of world size, but 80% of the area will almost never be visited because they look like auto generated land with nothing.

RE: What if you had to choose one announced feature to drop?
Totally would drop the full-looting aspect of the game. Demons can have fun PKing others, but how is it fun when you just spawn to die without gear? Never understood how full looting meant to work well as it promotes events like people ganging up on poor solo players.
btw, I know some of you guys who only think of the very surface layer will say "then simply don't go anywhere that you can get killed/full looted". Yeah, sure but it limits the "world" where people who hate the system can visit. Furthermore, while Fractured might be trying to combine a few systems while adding their new inventions themselves, a hot pot of too many styles of games mixed up and not well refined usually turns out really badly. Simply put it, too many mixed systems mashed together can be a bad thing because only part of the game appeals to certain audiences while other parts appeal to other audiences (trying to appeal to everyone while not satisfying any). If the systems don't turn out well knit together then it will be detrimental.

RE: Trading As a Skill
I have no idea why you're so angry when people disagree with your thread. I personally think a good trade system is one where they allow players to dictate the economy, not something you do with NPC or some crap that lets you get better simply because you do more trade. Simply put the auction house tax at 5~10% (a low enough amount) and let people trade whatever they want. THAT is true trade I appreciate as an economist, not some crap you automatically get better as you do more of it. No. You can lose money even as a very experienced person in a stock market. What trade helps with is the growth of the player as a person, not a flimsy game character that will automatically be BETTER than someone else. You have to understand that even the lowest of the low has a chance at trading as long as they know what they're doing. This is how you hear stories about people trading a pin into a house or a pen into a car.
So basically I'm saying don't dumb down trading into a crap system that the devs have to waste their time on. We don't need a bunch of garbage rules because that is not how the free market works. -
RE: Quests for classes
there isn't a class for Fractured (or at least they don't want it to be so obvious that you can easily call something a class that isn't player made). "All skills are obtainable for everyone in Fractured" or so I believe is their motto for classes. This would mean that certain abilities that are locked behind quest lines that are exclusive to doing the quest line would suck (because the quest pretty much tells you this is a Druid class or this is a Berserker class despite the fact that they said there won't be class-oriented structures).

RE: [One Sentence] What turns you off playing a game?
no PVP, bad balancing of skills, and lack of diversity in builds and gameplay.

Go, go. We need 160,000 € for fishing for ingame relaxing
Kind of hate this garbage. Fishing always feels so un-interactive yet mandatory for free mindless growth. Kind of like a burn-your-pc-and-afk-your-char-to-get-free-copper-but-a-mountain-of-copper-turns-into-gold activity.

every piece of clothing you buy has a manufacturer on it. our crafted stuff should have it too! (i can understand your point though)It is nice knowing <player> made it when you need a new one.
I remember this on Archeage cause some take pride in making a gear very powerful and selling it. I personally think Fractured's gear matters much much less as gear are crafted and lost and crafted again. Especially because there isn't an upgrade system in Fractured's gear. If they waste their time on something like "who made this", they might as well give me the option to overwrite the name when I loot the body. I mean come on, realistically I can scribble that name out and weave in my own right?
