      @Meziljin you r right but i think city maintanace will need it and roads maintanance (good idea to obligate citys to maintain main roads and connect them to city infrastructure) , city upgarde can also use stone and wood.

      @Roccandil totaly agreed with you on all aspects. but with food devs can implement guards of city or militia, or some army NPC and they must be fed. also there can be a city tavern where citizens can have discounted food of basic quality. Like of bread and one steak per day for free or something. if no one use his part this day it goes to other players or stay for you but to next day. everyone can donate food to city hall or pay tax and governor buy it in market from player. good buisness support.

      with a guards i offered in another post https://forum.fracturedmmo.com/topic/12512/you-dont-have-rights-permission a system where you dont have rights and permisions but everything is free to take but if you r not owner then guard of other player can claim you as a criminal. well maybe not criminal who have to die but maybe you will go to jail for a week or something. guards can patrol city and you can be unseen with your crime of you outside of their vision. players see you 100% and claim you instantly.

      yes you r right there will be a GDP but you do not actually have to count it. Players will regulate it naturally, actually market will. State can smelt other city coins into gold as well, so only those servive who coin cost more then gold itself. Yes there should be like a currency exchange kiosk or stock markets. but becouse they are humans they have it Demons and beaste more like primal races.

      yes there will be an ecomony wars, but thats a point. it just another extra level of compitition and if humans cannot hold peace then lets swords deside. But in my view the peace should not be peaceful, you know what i mean??? otherwise people get bored and will do war in sake of war. and when war has no economy behind then there no politics behind. cos we know its all about money, including wars. you r right its complicated and maybe devs dont like it but i think it would fix the problem we talking about. And in my opinion it more boring when u just have war for no reason, just cos they have horns and we dont....

      • ps: and yes u r right about price for city upgrage. it cannot be charge with fixed abount like its now, cos it fluent or like a liqued (i dont know the word) basicaly not fixed as currency is being printed by state. so im suggesting not to charge money but charge resources including gold ingots, and governor will have to collect tax in order to pay up city upgrade. it will be like in free democracy when state raise taxes and support busness by buying res of it. and then invest into itself (state). should be fun ))
        also with this system there will be less inflation then with current system cos with current system golden coins grow like a weed or grass and never stop till infinity.

      I have a suggestion which in my opinion will push players towards a conflucts. This is a CITY STORES. What i mean? Any other places has sort of limited store capsity. Like you full filled all your chests, all station all bank and thats it. You cannot simply collect your goods and materials. Instead you can convert your goods and res into money by selling it to city or simply by investing into city. You need it to upkeet the city BUT....you dont have to do it sort of like on daly basis. You simply can pay upfront. like one week/month upfront if you are very rich. so if everybody will do it then city can upgrade and live happily 1 year long. BUT all those res can by captured by enemy army and taken away from your store in case of sucsesful seige for your enemy.

      So this i overlooked from Clash And Clans. But the only diffrence that in owr game players has alternative of diplomacy befor starting a war. But if someone grow to much in economy and start to be rude to neighbours then it can pay.

      This is a big problem but author have not suggested valuble solutions. Some games fix this by adding fractions. So this fraction own this land and that fraction own that land. But is not owr way as I understood.

      Basicaly if evey city will have own currency then each city wuill have their own one. Yes people can ally and have one currency, but others will ally too. So it will be like a fraction but no fraction. It will be like a guild but not a guild. So as u know currecy is an indicator of economy of some social group. Cities, States, Alinces. So money will simply be stucked to activity of players. Not the activity of killing skelletons and goblins who magicaly have some golden cons and governor dont. NO. However goblins can have a golden naggets, which then governor smelt into his own coins.

      you can always make your own money be valueble cos you can c choose to sell only for your currency and to have your currency they had to sell to you something you want and get it. So all merchants will be interested in collecting it to trade with you.

      yes, players can keep multiplying guilds and cyties under one agenda, but with this mechanic who will need this? Yes there will be (maybe) one hegemon, you r right, BUT nobody need to cover whole map. I give real life example. America is heremon and it force the world to use dollars (economicly force). But everything is produced in China nower days. And chana becomes a superpower sstronger then America. Back to game. So if you will cover whole map then who will work then? Somebody has to work. U cant just make people work withing the system, there gotta by more economic system representing a labour. And it truely gotta be a diffrent sytem with different control power.

      Well yes, you can cover whole map tho with one currency disregard of what have said previously. But first of all this is more like beastman scenario, and if u r humans then demons can come and destroy some city, and empty a gap for new power to come. In other words, you will never be able to cover whole world cos the desire of having that power will live in many hearts and everyone will want to have that feeling of KING OF THE WORLD by printing one valuble currency for all. That why you will never succeed and thats why there will be many superpowers. And thats why there will be even single cities with one little but very strong currency if they work well.

      im not 100% sure how it all work atm, but i think the state (governore) should work as a middleman in realtion to community needs. City is community, tavern is community, roads is community, hospital (alchemy) is community, guards (security) is community, blacksmith is community, army is community. so all of those should be supported by community and a state (govenronor) should organise tax and resource collection from people to keep this community alive. from the other hand community have to get in return goods and service for cheaper price from a community centers i mentioned above.

      what i mean is not fully community support like in socializm system but just a service. there must by private buisness but for those who pay tax like city citizens there should be cheap of free support. lets say you cant use fire place free if u r not a citizen. so things like that.

      SO. basicaly im agree that everything should go as a tax to upkeep

      excuse my english, i may not understood everything clear, but i think if you change the system it wont prevent people from multiboxing. ok maybe you will do everything and people will stop multiboxing, ok? imagin that for a moment, but bigg guild could do the same multiboxing but with real people. u know? whats a diffrence betweet one player with 3 boxes and 3 actual players who in cahoots.

      @Meziljin agree. it should be opposite. farmlands outside of city should support the city with food. private houses should have a choice what they want to do, maybe they want it to be a farm or a smelter or bakory or little alchemy shop or taloring or skinning shop. and it will be like a little buisness. traders and merchants will be traveling to you with wagons and buy off you all your goods and deliver them to the city. its important that you cannot make like both bakery and farm cos this way you dont need a city, right? cos you will be selling them already ready bread, but that what city supposed to do. But from another hand is impoertant to give single players to have their own little buisness and trade with guilds/cities.

      thats how i see it.

      • PS: you CANT have all production chain in one spot but if you dont like city or you wanna trade with city selling a final product then you can unite with your neighbours, who may have final production.

      Well, we gotta be more clear what direction we r going? UO or Albion. If Albion then i have no questions but if more to Ultima then mounts should not disapear after u dismount them. in fact they should not ever disapear. Like in ultima they should stay in the world, and abey owners commands like follow, stay, attack, protect, dismiss, runaway, and so on. If rider get attacked then horse drop rider off its back and run away like 100 meters and relax for a while, untill player fix his problems with attackers. if not then rider just rund around horse untill it calmed down and jump on it again. Mobs do not attack horse unles horse was told to attack itself. Or they can attck horse but in this case horse should be able to run away from attackers. Same works for enemy players. Owner can see his horse of map/minimap like his house.

      If you wanna keep them, you could put them in stables and pay stable keeper some fee. Idealy, mounts, as yourself should eat and should rest. And idealy it should not take like seconds to rest so that you dont use one horse all the time say for travel between cities. Use three horses instead. While two in rest the other in work. This way you would have to have at least one horse per city so that they can be switched while current one go to rest. Yes it can be expensive but if you wanna fast travel its better to be a privelage. If you are merchant they transportation is one of the nessesery expenses.

      While you using it, stats of a mount should grow. More speed, more distance, more HP and so on. It should be growing easily and fast cos horses can die with this machanic, so they dont live long unless its some powerful mount like nightmare of some kind. It can be ressurected, but this idea is optional.

      in my oppinion its better cos like a 10 horses in your backpack??? Oh, come on ))) this not much fun compare for what im suggesting.

    • You dont have rights/permission.

      I think its better, instead of personal permissions for every item and personal loot permissions and all that which is mandatory for everyone to follow. LIKE A GODS LAW. instead of these artificial limitations we can make everything for free, but with karma punishment for rules violating.

      i give u an example. everyone can loot boss BUT, if you were not in the party who killed this boss and you are just a randome guy who came here just to steal then you get marked as a criminal and everybody can kill you without punishment.

      another example. there are wagons in a city. and everyone can leave this wagong there and only them have a permission to move it. this way city will be overcrowded with wagons. instead everyone can move it and take it and use it, but if this person is not a citizen or guild member he can be marked as a criminal and only if he was reported as one. so again - its not a game force you to become a criminal but other player. so if no body sees you you can steal this wagon, no problem.

      other example. buildings and crafting stations. everyone can enter and use them. well, not everyone but those who have access to them. by this i mean if door is opened by owner/owners with a key and its open then everyone can enter it and if there is a station inside everyone can use it, but again, if you have no rights to do it then you can be claimed a criminal.

      finaliazing. there is a game called Foxhole and there everything is for free. there are no possesions. maximum you can do is to lock your car, but everyone who have tool can open it. and this system has a lots of fun. its very interesting idea. it give people a freedom and you you dont like that your friend or enemy steal your car you can just kill him and take it back. in this game we cannot complitely copy it but partly we can by implementing karma mechanic to it.

      to make it easier we can allow gouvernor/shop owner hire guards (not imortal) for marking bad players as criminals, and they will have like a vision feild and they will be patroling area, so you still will be able to steal when out of watch. but its will be difficalt. meanwhile any player can stay in shop and claim stranger. if its a guard of private house then if he will be killed then criminal cannot be reported. so beware.

      this idea sort of leads us to lockpicking chests and house doors. which is not too bad either. the main thing is to avoid sort of physical limitations and being treated as children when you sort of hide knifes far to the carbord so they cant reach them.

      second of all i dont say there must be three calsses in game. there must be much more (that actially indicates that you not understanding what is going on) . mage warrior archer are not classes they sort of archetipes. mages - cam be archanist summoner healer necroamncer. mage isnt calsses. OK MAN I DONT CARE< IF YOU DONT UNDESTAND JUST STAY IN YOUR IGNORANCE IM NOT HERE TO TEACH YOU

      you know guys a holy trinity? Warrior/Archer/Mage? its like a stone scisors paper game. i suggest to use it in this game. dont you get sick of games via...actually all of them where your class doesnt mean anything special?? you know? well if you mage and archer then the only diffrence is visula effects otherwise its all the same. and also even if you warrior its still the same cos there is a ballance so there is no difference what class you play its always the same DPS. yes sometime they very but nurf work fix it all up. and make everyone equal. i think we had enough of it. they even got rid of elemental resistance so nobody care if you r mage of icee or fire or astral like in Allods 2. why dont we make old fashioned trinity system? i wont be expaining how it works. but basacaly mage and archers work on much fether distance. like in game Foxhole it is possible to complite in top down games. so if you r mage you hit from very far distance and you are very powerfull DPS but it takes long time to cast and warrior can have 100% resist from your kind of magic. so you wont hurt him at all. and if he find you no matter how powerfull you r he still kill you from one hit, unless you have physical resistance cast. so mage kills warrior, warrior kills archer, archer kills mage. TRINITY. what do you say? every one will have their own properies. like if you wanna play for mage get ready to pain. it will be very difficalt. long level up, low physical resistance, need rare magical gear. they will be only few powerful mages on server like in lord of the rings - lots of warriors and few mages.
