    • RE: Opening inventory during fight ?

      @Gothix

      Yes, but for example WoW had dozens of active skill slots, so one slot used by a potion wouldn´t matter (there was no reason to go into inventory for one). In Guild Wars 2 your healing spell had fixed position and no healing potions - again no reason to go to inventory.

      Here we have 8 positions for abilities- both offensive and defensive ones. And if i can simply go into inventory for heal (that doesn´t cost health like Second wind or mana like regular healing spells), why would i slot healing spell into such limited bar. Why would i reduce my nuking potential, when i don´t have to. That´s what I mean.

      I know one, Albion. In order to use consumables you have to equip them and you can't change your gear (including consumables) when you are in combat.

      This. If in AO you could drink health potions as you wish, duels would be quite different.

    • Opening inventory during fight ?

      I know it might look like stupid question, but is it possible to open inventory during fight ?
      We have 8 slots and its might be advantage to have it filled with nukes while also having opened inventory to click healing / antidot anytime necessary, as it would save at least one slot (not mentioning how strong remedy seems to be against dedicated DOT character). Hope makros won´t make it into game.

      It wouldn´t be a nice fight to see opponent throw all his nukes at me, run away while healing himself from inventory and attack again when healed a little (maybe with help of invis spell).

      Thank you.

    • RE: Owlsane's Feedback / Suggestion / Questions about Alpha 2 - Test 2

      -Bleeding strike
      The crit deals around 50% less damage than a normal hit (27dmg with a crit when it's around 55 with a normal hit for example).

      Sorry to question you so late, but 50% lower damage was the hit? What damage did the tick have? Did you try increasing the damage of DOT tick with bear claw pendant and brown bear headdress to find whether dot damage is calculated depending on melee damage, or some attribute? Did you try to stack bleeds?

      Im asking, because poisons seem to be dependant on Inteligence (if casted) or on level of poison itself (if coated on weapon). I wonder what other types of DOT damage depend on.

      Thanks

      @Razvan Imo change to CC (that they wouldn´t stack) is quite recent, so we´ll either see it in another free weekend/alpha or devs will inform us through Pills. Let´s be patient.

    • RE: Life leech on spells / enchants / buff abilities

      @Razvan said in Life leech on spells / enchants / buff abilities:

      Either way, I feel that this discussion is more of a subjective thing that reveals our class preferences and doesn't lead anywhere so maybe dropping it is for the best.

      Totally agreed.

      That's 3 different CC being used there by the tank: pull, stun and root. In this sense, I hope they stack because it would be weird not to be able to stun someone while they were slowed.
      Then, in Albion there's the knight helmet, which gives a short aoe immunity buff to push and pull.

      At least CC should be devided into soft CC (slows and such that only limit your movement/fighting capabilities) and hard CC (stun, petrify, being turned into chicken and similar ones, that leave you fully helpless).
      ESO has such thing, why not Fractured. And while SAVES might help, they´re not reliable; it would suck to be unlucky on rolls and be stunned -> petrified -> hexed -> stunned again -> webed or whatever, while being teared to pieces by minions ... and some nukes as bonus. No stack of hard ones please and if so, then with serious diminishing returns.

    • RE: Life leech on spells / enchants / buff abilities

      @Razvan Paladin was long time the worst guy to pvp with, but with synergies and Grief runeword he become the best (smiter, foher and hammerdin were sure the strongest). So yes, it was totally imbalanced, some skills would even disable enemy character (amazon with missile slowing spell vs any projectile using character) ---> so in proper pvp some skills and items were banned and there were caps on stats (max resists, max move speed etc.). So you´re right, game wasnt pvp, but with rules it was awesome 🙂

      I only mentioned Diablo, because i remembered DII v1,09 BvBers, who had VERY low healthpools, but twice dmg of regular pvp barbs and huge life steal. Even if you had 4x more hp, they would leech through your damage, aside trying to snipe them from afar with javelins, there was not much to do. Btw no barb / druid / paladin / amazon ever used anything slower than weapon that would give them max attacks. Dmg is king, but speed kills 😛

    • RE: How big should guilds allowed to be?

      @Yitra exactly, 20 vs 20 is huge fight already. 100+ vs 100+ is just chaos with random throwing flying AOEs.

      @Razvan dat one shot combo in second video on 00:20 mark 😄 Thank gods Fractured has saves and disables don´t stack.

      However in such zergs aoe damage attack with lifeleech component might be potent (if caster is at least little tanky).

      @Razvan
      Well, in most things you´re right about dota, but there is no horizontal moba game i can think of 😕 No matter.

      Imo Fractured is basically Albion with less grind, why would it be niche game. I didn´t play Albion for long, but not much content appeared, just slow repetitive grind and superslow combat where one mistake cost you fight. I take Fractured as full pvp game and beastmen as just step necessary for abomination (tho it´s sad one can´t attack at least some region). As not-pve player I can´t answer you why would i grind character to not join fight, so you might be right about furries - many will sure convert to abominations, unless they can fight in invasions (on good guys side ofc).

    • RE: Primitive weapons

      @Razvan Imo guild vs guild might still be enough to let us going. Dota 2 has always been the same thing - same map, same heroes, same items, same everything and still everyone still plays it - because of pvp. Fractured is supposed to have MOBA taste so why shouldn´t it work here (if there ever was also some kind of arena for 5v5 in moba style, I would be glad 🙂 ). From videos it seems like every other mmo, grind is just different, so I don´t see any reason it should fail, it´s not that different from others. In every mmo game ever after you rached max lvl you either:

      1. PVP (of course) and more pvp
      2. complete hardest dungeons
      3. complete all the archivements (or here collect all the skills)
      • all these should apply for Fracture too

      In for example ESO i hated it all the way to max lvl, then I started enjoying it. I don´t care about quests (just as everyone playing arpgs, quests are for games like Torment), i care about fight. If I wanted story, I´d play single player game. Do you remember story from Path of exile? Elder scrolls online? Guild wars 2? Im sure these game have some, but I haven´t read single line. Imo if only thing Fractured offers is PVP, im fine with it.

    • RE: Life leech on spells / enchants / buff abilities

      @Jetah

      there could be a cap of how much leech per second can be obtained.

      But what cap would it be - depending on max endurance? Max health ? Or will leech have its own passives in passive tree (like in Path of Exile )? If so, under what attribute.

      Each archetype always had own ways to get life back. Heavy warrior slowly regenerated, which was fine, as warriors mostly have high resistances, dps (rogues, rangers whatever) either tried to never get hit or used life leech and casters had heals or debuffs. Damage lifeleech was always best for fast attacking types - carries always have more dps than life s o they benefit from life leech most of all archetypes (casters are on second place, however it´s still better for them to nuke enemy down), so please just make heals slowly regenerate health instead immediate heal - or else high dmg chars (carries) couldn´t be taken down (dps should always outdamage tank while leech through their weaker strikes...not talking about having high evasion).

      Even with heal over time assassins still can go invis or disable you with assassination abilities, so they wouldn´t be too incapacitated, but at least we´ll avoid "lvl 25 Mortred with Satanic".

      @Razvan Hm, all of them do have multiplayer and imo only one that doesn´t aim at pvpers is GRIM DAWN 😛 DII was all about pvp and Path of Exile tried too ... too bad some builds were too op.

    • RE: Life leech on spells / enchants / buff abilities

      @Razvan Imo in most arpg attack speed >>> big damage numbers. Grim Dawn, Diablo II (attack speed was necessary for max attacks during ww), Path of Exile (there are few build favouring huge dmg over attack speed (earthquake, shield charger), but noone plays them 😄 ), in all these speed is the key.

      @asspirin nah we will get cc immunity or reduction of it in some sort, prometheus stated that in the q&a with oxfurd iirc, they also tuned down earthquake immediatly after we abused it a bit 😉

      ---> lets just hope not only stuns but all other disables wil share the reduction (stun ti hext to perify ).

      P.S.: I hate fast attacking builds.

      @Xzoviac Sure, but ability will keep its power, it will just be little different (but not stronger or overall beter - it might have lower cooldown, but lower damage as well or so). But it would sure be nice to have dude specialised in one element. Personally im more interested how CC skills will change.

      @Tero-Kaze But

      Harvest 1000 Stones = +1 knowledge of Metallurgy opens up Iron Ore

      Harvest 1000 Iron Ore = +1 knowledge of Metallurgy opens up Coal

      2 points of Metallurgy opens up Steel

      Imo there is difference between "i kill X bad guys --> I get ability X" and " I harvest X lvl 1 material so i can unlock X lvl 2 material". All abilities learnt from monsters (hopefully) will be on same power level (yes, some differ in power, but also cost more memory), I will not have to unlock one skill of one enemy to unlock skill of other enemy . This kind of grind based on prerequisite is boring and always have been (aka "make 1464131846 same daggers to unlock sword") and as its based on power levels, it´s imo not very horizontal.

    • RE: Life leech on spells / enchants / buff abilities

      @Shivashanti Then Im glad I was wrong 😄 Having this superlong aoe stun with few pets might be just enough to end fight (considering cc could be chained) and ganks would be superstupid (1st stun from invis is GG).
      Ill have to hear the whole chat between them...or just wait how they´ll deal with it as Prometheus probably didn´t present final solution yet. Thanks and sorry for misinformation.

      However we went offtopic - I´m still curious about life leech.

      @Razvan If i remember correctly, devs stated you can chain stuns... which is IMO broken as the first guy to land aoe stun in team vs team situation wins the fight for team (even if SAVES are taken into consideration).

    • RE: Upgradable Pets

      @Razvan I admit that, but not due to fact that you have to have twice the hit chance than evasion rating to hit 85% of attacks, not all minion hits connect - thats why for example 2h weapons in WoW had such huge dmg compared to 1handed (2handed weapons had 3,2x dmg boost from strenght, 1 handed had like 1,7x if i remember correctly ... Fractured has same dps). So if your bear crits twice, he kills, but if he misses twice, you lost 😛 Im only guessing, but in most games many weaker attacks >> fewer stronger ones.

    • RE: Upgradable Pets

      @Razvan point is more pets might be better as armour doesn´t reduce flat damage, but percentage damage. If ten weak hits hit just as well as three huge, I´d rather pick weaker ones, as one big pet can be kited, but probably not swarm of smaller ones ( in DII I rather used 3 dogs instead of 1 bear - he would hit harder, but not as often).

      I think it should be more like a dog costs 1point, a wolf costs 4 points, a bear costs 10 points. At 20CHA you can have a maximum of 3 summons out with a total cost of 10 points.

      Yep, I also hope it´s gonna be like this.
