    • Name OP ability / mechanic experienced in other pvp arpg/mmorpg/moba

Example: in WoW vanilla you (as rogue) could kill fully equipped enemy without weapon ( I don´t mean one shot combos, but rather long CC combos agains which there was no defence). An even if you would use trinket to get out of stun, rogue would just go invis, wait for one of CC skills and repeat (sure macros would help a lot, but rogues were op in vanilla solely thanks to CC and INVISIBILITY).
In Guild Wars 2 right after release rogues would stay far and once you were low health, they would shadowstep you, CCed you with Steal and finish you in 1-2 skills. I literarilly never fought rogue whilefull hp 😄 And if i tried, they would just vanish or teleport with a bow. One shot invis guys were annoying as well, demanded zero skill and were relativelly safe to play.

In Fractured everyone except heavy armour guys can go invisible and while we have saves, full offensive rogue might still land most of his abilities successfully. Invisible full offense nuker will be also terryfying. So for me its invisibility combined with cc.

Im wonder what stats for attacks from invisibility will be. Will it multiply any damage (including spell damage)? Will we be able to "backstab" enemy with any (not only assassin) weapon? Will we be able to use any skill from invisibility for damage multiplier ( heavy blow crit from invis would hurt)? Will attacks from invisibility have some kind of aim bonus (as enemy will not be able to tell Im attacking, so he cant defend/dodge/prepare)?
I guess there will be more invisibility abilities, so can they stack (for one superlong sneak to get out of danger easily) ? Is there cooldown on such skills ("you cant enter invisibility x seconds after first invis ended")? Will there be enough skills to counter invisibility (some kind of tracking / marking - i guess perception might help a little, and so will skills from Divination school ... hope they will be castable in full plate, but as they aren´t offensive, they should, right)? Will DOTs show position of enemy (not talking about seeing numbers, but for example blood dripping from enemy)? Will invisible enemy have zero colision? Will we be able to attack "air around" to hit enemy (shift + basic attack)? Will users of low end machines have disadvantage when fighting invisible enemy (in case you would leave footprints on the ground etc. - in original Dota Phantom assassin with her passive would be "invisible" - you could see her only thanks to her shadow (and health bar, but that wasn´t defaultly shown at that time), so if you had shadows off, you wouldnt see her and would just get killed thanks to surprise (and 4x damage multiplier crits :D).

P.S.: Looking forward to see some pvp in upcoming test. Most abilities are still not in game, but wonder how usable such ability will be.

      @Jetah

how did the mobs get the money..

      ogre: "look, tasty trvlr"

why did they pick it up..

for same reason as magpies: "look, shiny!" 😛

Imo best economy is in Path of Exile - no money, everything works on "barter" system - "currency" that modifies equipment, so there is still demand for it. It does have a flaw however, as one has to find everything by drop, but unlike unique items the currency still keeps it´s value.

      @Jetah

i played in the alpha-beta somewhere phase. i realized it was going to be a bad game and didn't play at release.

that was correct decision, 24/7 grind simulator 😄 But point is in both games you have limited active abilities slots, so they´re very similar. Therefore if using inventory midfight would be beneficial in AO, then it would be in Fractured as well.

@Jetah Have you played Albion online? If I could open inventory to heal while one of my potions (or some kind of bandage) is on CD, or if i could choose right "protection potion" in middle of the fight (when i already know what element specialization my enemy has), I´d virtually have at least 2x as much hp, which is imo quite the advantage.

to opening it in Fractured: we have 8 slots, if half of them is filled with potions, you have 4 nukes; if you dont have to slot potions and use them from inventory, you can have 8 nukes = twice more damage (probably awesome with DOTs). Again advantageous ( i exaggerate to show my point).

@Gothix I would hate it just as much...but I´d sure use if it would give me any advantage in PVP 😄

@Xzoviac Grim Dawn MI system is imo perfect; btw

For example, you need "parts" of poisonous animal, to create a weapon that does poison damage. You can't create such weapon purely from mats gathered from wolves and bears.

thats how Grim dawn does it - shield from scarap carapace, mandible from giant spider as dagger, huge petrified hand used as hammer - all these must get handles to be usable etc. Or weapon/armour drops streight away it its humanoid foe (who uses weapon).

Ofc nonlogical drops make no sense.

No one is saying there should be no health potions in game. Player should just decide whether he wants them in ability slot (just like you can slot remedies and bandages) or not. Of course they will be needed, you can have as low as 6 inteligence and my guess is such character can´t rely on healing spells as much as mage (there are abilities with 0 mana cost such as Second wind ... but CD 80s makes it usable once a fight).
Topic is about something else - if you can get into inventory during fight to get healing from potion of slurp some fire resistance potion when you meet fire specialised enemy, it´s imo same as to stop the fight, have a rest and spec different abilities to counter enemy - this is neccessary in PVE, when you cant prepare for encounter, but in PVP it gives you advantage.

    • Monster infrequent weapons?

In game we have helmets from monsters (deer, wolf, bear) that offer various kinds of bonus stats. Also necklases offering other bonuses (fox, rabbit, bear, wolf). Are there planned also weapons from monsters? In GRIM DAWN enemies could drop item specific for them - these items are called Monster infrequents (MI) - armour, weapons and jewelery offering unique bonuses not only to stats, but also skills.
I was thinking something like if you kill spider, weapon made of it´s teeth migh add poison damage, offhand made of lich head might reduce enemy defence agains magic damage etc. Talking about skills, are there any "skillers" planned to further specialise your toon (in case i wanted to be illusionist, is there any way, aside of increasing charisma, to make illusion skills stronger) ?
To helmets / pendants from monsters - will there be tiers just as with weapons (primitive --> metal)?

@Yitra Im not young either 😄
Of course it would be bad design - that´s what the topic is about. Im just stating it would be balanced to use only 8 slots we have (anyway we want) without being able to get into inventory during fight.

@Yitra and belts are so 1996 😛 Imo if we get dedicated health potions slots, will anyone ever use restoration spells school (aside of buffing teammates) ? Belts are classic way of healing in ARPG (Diablo 1, Diablo2, Path of Exile), because healing with spells is mostly non present, this game however seems more like ADaD game, where potions and spells were balanced.

@Razvan Don´t know about crafting potions, but if im not mistaken, devs stated enchanting your equipment will demand at least few points in INT. But there shouldn´t be any prerequisites for anything, as long as you have materials, youre free to craft.

@Xzoviac Or you can make alchemist char and make potions for your warrior char ( in case you can make guild for yourself and invite your other character so you can share stash with yourself 😄 ).

    • RE: Opening inventory during fight ?

@Xzoviac why not, but it would be closer to abilities rather than consumables (if such flasks had cooldown). But they would have to be potent, or noone would use them (in DII fireflasks were used as help for low lvl characters, but after few hours of playing they sucked, in GRIM DAWN there were some nice offensive flasks, but you wouldn´t get them from start, so again noone used them)

So make them available from start and let them scale like rest of the abilities ---> but then if no mana would be necessary to "cast" them, it would give quite advantage to user - especially low mana chars (warriors in plate). So either give them mana cost (not logical and potions would become just reskinned spells) or make them cooldown dependant on armour or something (or heavily armoured guys would just spam you with fireball flasks ) or dependant on inteligence (so low int chars would have serious disadvantages, high cooldowns and such).

@Razvan Totally agree about balance thing, but I was rather responding to Gothix´s "single slot reserved to healing ability/potion/whatever for this purpose". I bet every build will probably use healing of some kind, limiting healing to one slot is imo limitation, so let´s leave it to player --> for me only limitation should be "8 slots for abilities" and leave choice of abilities to us.

P.S.: How many active buffs from consumables can we have at time. 1 buff consumable with long duration and 1 healing item ?

    • RE: Opening inventory during fight ?

@Gothix Like many things this is also matter of personal taste. I personally liked Guild wars 2 system most. You had one healing spell (ability) in separate slot (just like you prefer), but it had fixed CD and there were no healing bottles. And what´s more, you could get dazed/stunned, so your healing went on short cd - best system I´ve seen. In gameplay videos everyone just spams Bandages. It sure will be toned down, but with such low cd and no need of mana, noone will ever use dedicated healing spells, because theyre sooo worse (at least give bandages, remedies, healing potions etc. shared cooldown).
