    • RE: Support/Healer type builds

      @Razvan This is correct for most people. In fractured however it looks like supporters can go pet hybrid way (so far CHA and INT are necessary for support and as healing cant crit and you dont need high accuracy to heal, my bet is if you meet petmaster, he will also support/heal you 24/7). Summoners/pet masters tend to be way stronger solo as well.

      However I sure hope stats of caster do affect the power of buffs/heals in the end, or your own buffer slave will be useless 😕 Imo best way "holy trinity" was presented was in Guild Wars 2, where everyone was fully independent.

    • Is there planned any "CD reduction" in case of spell saved?

      As melee you auto attack and here and there use an attack that keeps you close to your enemy. Many melee (warfare/assassination) attacks have "cannot miss" property. Spells don´t (unless they´re skillshots). Do casters get for example shorter cooldown on spell that was resisted? Or do they have to wait till nukes are out of CD? Because autoattacking is probably not the way to go for dedicated casters (unless necessary).

    • RE: Skill Ideas

      @Nekrage

      Imo the No escape ability from Ares (SMITE

      + aoe nukes in DOTA etc etc...). But you´re right, some kind of "suck enemies into one place" ability should make it into Fractured.

      Talking about tanks: if tanks will have to go full defensive with some points in accuracy/luck (so their CC will even work against enemy saves), their damage will probably stink. I´d welcome some kind of ability like Bristleback´s Quill spray - low damage cannot miss aoe stacking attack that starts off weak but if tank is not focused (which is his purpose) and will keep casting the skill the damage grows up to some serious numbers. Or something Radiance offers - wouldn´t need the miss chance on enemies, but permanent aoe damage that would force enemies to focus tank ---> because once dedicated tank is out of spells due to CD or out of mana, he will be ignored.

    • RE: Hitboxes depending on size of player characters ?

      @Razvan But it sure depends on terrain around big cities (which will be targeted by demons during eclipses).

      or to defend themselves on a chokepoint.

      Wonder if devs will create tight places for defence or leave the battlefield open (or whether the governor can customize the defence of his city by building another walls / wolf traps or creating the choke points himself).

      My point however was rather about being bigger target due to character size than collision (which sure is important, but I hope the game will not become another aoe spam carnage).

      Concerning collision - what about pets? One can have up to 3 of them, will they block enemy/teammates as well? If they do there might be quite a mess in big zerg. If more petmasters get into fight everyone is blocked. And if they have no collision they dont serve their purpose as meat tanks.

    • RE: Should there be limitations for class specialization?

      Being limited by having low stats makes sense. Being limited for having high stats imo doesnt.
      One can be smart while strong, why not. Our character is already limited by certain number of points for character creation, why punish me for being specialised (If i have natural 20 STR and 20 INT, why should i be worse mage than dude with natural 20 on INT 10 on STR, I should be as smart as him + also physically stronger).

      @Gothix

      and how much utility spells they will have, and how OP those spells are

      I hope no ability will be OP on its own, this would be failed game balance. Combos can however never be balanced (imagine character in DOTA with 4 ultimate abilities) and my bet is meta builds will pwn. Some ability combinations sure will be better than another no matter how hard the devs will balance them, because ability might suck solo but in proper combo setup it will be unstoppable.

      Also melee weapons do aoe damage on their own, don´t they (aoe swings with 1h slashing / blunt weapons and piercing attack damaging enemies even behind primary target - spear etc.), seems like all melees need is survivability, gap closers and some crits (if spells cant crit, melees have quite the advantage).

      @Jetah

      why instantly assume a CD reset is every hit. it could be a 1-10 minute timer on it before it activates. there are passive skills in games that can only trigger once every x duration

      That´s nice idea - ability that would reset your CD of failed spell ... or at least reduce it Wouldn´t be too OP as it would take 1 valuable slot thus reducing your nuking potential and would go off only once in X seconds just like Shield block for example.

      @Gothix

      I could already see druids shapeshift like mad to remain immune lol.

      😄 yep, I know. The shapeshift ability could be on big CD and invulnerability window would be short so very skill dependant, but was just asking (I still compare Fractured to MOBAs as both should share sim,ilar gameplay 🙂 )

      Shapeshift should imo be on little longer CD so one cannot abuse such thing (like escaping abilities of deer kin - no matter what it will be in final version of the game, it´s basically free teleport or frenzy not taking ability slot). Will shapeshifting be chanelled ability? Hope one will not switch into beats mode in blink of the eye.

    • RE: Dexterity giving speed bonus might be an issue

      Also if you know you´re not going to be the fastest guy around (bear kin with 6 dex) you probably know your weakness and prepare accordingly - so far we have Cripple - sets enemy DEX to 10 and slows him (bad news if you have 25 DEX and count on being unhittable), also Slow might help.
      Cripple is mostly resisted by Fortitude so fast guys will have to decide between STR and CON, or go both but other attributes might suffer (unless going human). Those few percents of movespeed are nice, but won´t make me max DEX (or even put single point into it) for passive effect only.

    • RE: More than 8 abilities if beastkin, still truth?

      @Razvan Devs stated each form will have different move speed in beast form. My bet is Cat + Deer will run like a wind (sprinters, Cat will even have highest DEX from whole game which increases move speed and deer is said to have "faster move speed" as ability), Wolf will be slower (his tactic is to exhaust his prey, not outrun it) and I wouldn´t be surprised to see a Bear run even slower that human (big bad mean, but fatso) 😄

      EDIT: Well, Mr. Meiki was faster 🙂

    • RE: Flavour to Lichs/Non-demon evils

      @Caako But then if nobody wil summon them, demons will never get anywhere out of Tartatros and considering each planet has unique materials, demons would have pretty serious disadvantage. Not talking about players with two accounts, who would be able to teleport anywhere anytime on demand.

      @Meiki Shapeshifting disabled outside of Arboreus? Doesn´t seem correct to me.
      I do know "Beastmen on Syndesia lose the powers they are granted on Arboreus", but those "powers" are buffs granted by planet, right? Is shapeshifting really counted among them? Then demons would be stronger than furries.

    • Importance of saves vs resists

      I mean from gameplays it seems Accuracy will be most important stat for CC builds while for regular non crit builds (so far mainly magic spells) it´s better to increase survivability (block, resists) and maximize damage (magic damage, fire damage...) than accuracy as there are spells that are not affected by saves (unless their description is wrong) - Acid breath, Ice spikes, Deep freeze, totems and skillshots,
      Absence of saves is paid by: necessity to stand still as easy target (channelling spells like Deep freeze that are also harder to cast due to possibility of being stunned --->Resolve a must), being close to enemy and thus risking melee punishment (Ice spikes) or both (Acid breath, Static discharge), but it doesn´t matter, Poison totem still offers slow going through saves.

      Shouldn´t abilities with saves have either more damage (to make up for saved spells), lower CD (same reason), or some fracture of crit damage (like 50% of regular crit damage of something) or is it planned this way (so one could either go tanky caster with maxed spell damage, abilities to reduce enemy resists and no CC or CC heavy build but with defendable spells)? If there are abilities that have guaranteed hit ability and abilities that grant immunity to CC, it makes sense to max damage and resists. Hope there will be unpurgable CC abilities, with CON 25 one can have almost permanent stun immunity (only 2s window during which one can get stunned, but for this there is shield on 2s CD) and Enrage giving complete immunity against mages so CC builds would be toasted..

      A mage maxing saves, health and resists would probably be way safer way to go as caster because there are also spells that reliably negate CC even if the spell was not resisted aka second layer of protection against accuracy based abilities. Moreso because if enemy goes supersayan with enrage one can use Disrupting strike which also doesn´t need accuracy to work.

      Same problem would apply to melees - I´ve seen videos with fighter with PER 6 doing well - but unlike spells weapon damage can CRIT so high PER crit melee build is just as viable as non-PER brute max melee dmg max STR+CON in heavy armour, melee damage has way bigger scaling.
      Magic damage has its ceiling as it scales from INT, magic/element damage (in some cases there are immunities, so far fire and poison) and thats it, no further increase (except lower resists, but weapon have it too...even passive on weapons --->spear and dagger).

      Couldn´t PER give spells some bonus for example in form of resist reduction on enemy - aka "with higher perception you can see weaknesses of enemy and aim your magic better" so that using magical abilities dependant on accuracy is worth it?

    • RE: More than 8 abilities if beastkin, still truth?

      @Razvan

      if shapeshifting would increase your speed as much as Shaman´s wolf form in WoW (+40% ms) then sure yes, but if it´s just few percents, would it really make difference when literally everyone has access to increases to move speed abilities, snares and slows. We need exact numbers of bonuses ... imo only actual gameplay of beastmen in game will show how balanced / OP they are.

      As long as these transformations don't respect the mounting rules and can be used in pvp...

      If shapeshifting would follow same rules as mounting, beastmen would either not need mounting or the shapeshifting. Lets leave it as it is, but make sure its balanced.

    • RE: Two Handed Melee build

      Im not in alpha but just watching videos is enough to see something is wrong 🙂 Just watch this 00:24:50 - 00:26:22 (one and half minute to kill monster in two people) and even better the following fight 00:26:22 - 00:30:30 (over 4 minutes to kill one monster). I know this is not Diablo where you slew the main boss in 10 seconds and regular mobs vaporize instantly, and most of the fight it was 1v1 and monster used healing few times, but 4 minutes ? If it was interesting fight with huge DMG numbers, where you had to dodge and time your attacks (which would take skill) and take 20% hp in one swing, why not. But standing 4 minutes and keep holding LMB knowing he cant even scratch me would probably make he go grind someone else.

      I hope they will keep bonuses on active melee skills like on Heavy blow with up to 250% increased dmg depending on strength, instead of +50% dmg no matter how strong you are like it was earlier (but question is if for example Hellfire demon with 25 str (massive melee dmg) and high perception hits someone cursed with Death mark (+50% dmg taken) with 2h axe (probably passive crit damage), while buffed with Strike wounds (+30% dmg per debuff on enemy) with skill Heavy blow (250% dmg) and luckily crits (with greywolf headdress +50% crit damage), will he one shot him?).
      Melees with 2h need nukes too, because if all weapons have same DPS, 2h guys will suck as 1h can have shield aka more defence while having same damage output - at least in pve, because you will not have to go camp as much... Or just give 2h weapons +50% dmg bonus from strength so with str 18 you would have melee dmg bonus 48% (should be +100%, you use both your hands :D)

      Could be solved by reducing damage if you go shield +1h, but then it would take eternity to kill something, rather increase 2H damage.

      Please, give monsters that heal themselves some kind of visible indicator that theyre going to heal themselves. Then It would take some skill and timing, to stop their heal (and in case of successfull disruption of heal, give them 5-10 s cooldown on their healing).

    • RE: [Build] What would you suggest?

      I´d suggest get little more CON for Fortify or get Fortify on all your equip, because no Fortify means being permastunned (unless you have Resolve and are able to kill your enemy below 6 seconds...its on 16,4s CD, so as glass canon you probably get no other chance), being permastunned means nullifying ALL your Evasion; losing all your Evasion means being killed in two hits by 2h hammer wielding brute or in 2 seconds by nuker with nukes aiming Evasion.

      Also count with fact that in final game humans should have 120 points to spend and beastmen/demons have bonuses on stats - depending on race (so you can start with 21 in some attribute).

    • RE: Is a Quarterstaff a 'Blunt Weapon'?

      Yep, thats where Fractured still needs some improvements - description of abilities, talents and weapons.
      Does "Double health regeneration" from last STR talent nod double only regen from stats (STRx1 --> STRx2) or "anything that has health regeneration in its name / description" ( from abilities like Verdant regrowth, talents, stats, enchants and potions )? Do bleeds stack and how to increase their potency? If I cast ability thats castable only with melee weapons and switch to ranged, do bonuses persist (like with Ignore Armor - only info stated is "Your next attack ignores [Per*4]% of your victim's armor", type of attack not specified; or Strike wounds where you buff yourself for 30s ... and does such bonus damage crit - same question applies to bonus damage from Wildfire totem)?

      There are some non-official guides, but few mechanics would use some enlightment. For example Path of Exile does this well most of the time.
