RE: Healing (spells / potions) with casting time?
Let´s just hope bandages and remedies will have at least 30 secs cooldown, co they can be only used on emergency, not every 5 secs for no cost, so every DOT build is worthless and healing spells don´t have reason.

RE: Enough attackers / defenders during eclipses
- yes, it is (nuker with 3 nukes < nuker with 8 nukes :D)
- abilities don´t have 3 lvls, but 3 variants (that don´t differ in strenght but effect)
- yes, yet we still don´t know what they offer ... but you´re right - its advantage over starting guys
- point is such materials don´t necessarily need to be better but more customisable - you could fine tune your build to be more specialised, it would be nicer than just "same thing with higher numbers" ... would also be more "horizontal"
*you forgot "god´s blessing" which starting characters probably won´t have as it takes some divine quest
Sure, it´s full loot, but then why would I walk around with weapons hitting like wet noodle If i knew I might be attacked, I would rather hold proper weapon
... not talking about fact killing monsters would take 20% longer.
Difference of 20% damage is HUGE - it´s same as having 10% crit chance to 200% damage in game, where the only "crit stat" - PERCEPTION - gives you 0,5% chance per point - would you let it go? I wouldnt. This (hopefully) isn´t 24/7 grind/farm simulator like Albion (at least devs stated it). Equipment should be easily replacable.

DOTs
Are DOT (damage over time) builds going to be viable? Seeing "remedies", that can remove poisons every few seconds makes me nervous
(and certainly many more sadistic guys who want to wear enemy down slow and painfully). Is it really so simple to remove all the dots with remedy / purge-like spell , or do "negative status removers" remove one negative status / dot at time?
And in case there are dots (so far I´ve seen Bleeding strike (damage not specified) and Poison (only poison lvl known, dmg not specified), will these be able to crit? And if so:
- if first tick of dot crits, all rest are crits
- every tick has own chance to crit
- can´t crit, dmg only increasable by reducing resists
Do same DOTs stack? For example Bleeding strike duration is (with high perception) longer than its cooldown.
And I hope DOTs are not considered debuffs, so CHA is not important. -
RE: Enough attackers / defenders during eclipses
According to the wiki, " leveling up an ability increases its power – be it a stronger effect, increased duration, reduced cooldown, and more. However, they’re always minor differences, mostly interesting on a competitive level.". Even if it's a 10% increase in only one of those areas, if you account for the full bar of skills, the difference becomes significant (think of 100IP difference in Albion - it won't turn a bad player in a formidable adversary, but it makes the difference between 2 equally skilled players).
This has been changed a while ago, wiki is not very up do date
Some skills from alpha are missing, some still have "wand and spell saves". Now there are 400 abilities, each of them has 3 variants - no power levels as it used to be, so there are actually 1200 abilities planned
If furries are invaded only a few times per month, in the invasion days they will probably not bring their best gear. Of course, I don't know how easy will be to replace top gear here, but I was thinking about something like being able to invade HCE in Albion a few times per month. If we could do that, I very much doubt they'd bring their top gear. =))
Furries won´t be evaded at all, demons will have such huge debuffs, that only masochist would do that ( why would they, during eclipses they can freele roam human world, so why rape carebears
)
What I don't understand is: if a new character can fight a seasoned character as equal, where is the progress / character development?
New player can´t fight seasoned player ... it´s simply not possible - at least not until he gets more than starting 3 abilities (logically caster with 8 nukes is more powerfull than same caster with 3 nukes) and even then he will have not many chances against well built character.
However even if both had same character with same abilities, talents and equipment, skill would still do a lot. Remember counter strike? I know, it´s fps, but even with same equip noob would get pwned by pro 10 out of 10 times. Also games like DOTA2, LOL and such games - no persistent world, your hero always starts from beginning, but try to play against seasoned veteranKnowing game mechanics, knowing meta, best combos, complete knowledge of cooldowns of all skills - all makes huge difference even without much of char developement.

Is there any lowest chance to hit ?
Im reffering to GRIM DAWN, with system offence vs defence --> if your defence way WAY higher than your enemy´s, you would literally never got critted, chance to hit you might be as low as 4% and even then the damage would be severely reduced. So in later patch this was changed, so that the lowest possible chance to hit would be 60% (and reduced damage). Im asking this because in older videos guys with dagger had problems hitting enemy with dagger. - I know it has beel already solved and skill Death mark got nice bonus to aim, but Im curious as there is still large amount of skills we dont know (so far not even 8% of abilities have been revealed and all will have 3 variants).
Lets say we have Chadra / Shadow with natural dex 20 (300 evasion + unknown amount of evasion thanks to natural 20), natural charisma 20 (with active Inspire 240 evasion + all resists) and better rolls to evade due to high luck + Fox tail amulet + 80 evade = at least 620 evasion.
Then we have Martial arts - school probably heavily specialised to evading (just like monks in ADaD). And Marksmenship - even harder to hit as it´s ranged school. And maybe there will be abilities reducing the aim of enemy, who knows.
So if there is opponent with Perception 6, how much chance will he have against such build? Will he have some guaranteed chance to hit even against some build specialised on dodges, or is it necessary to put 100% of bonuses from equipment and armour to aim?

RE: Enough attackers / defenders during eclipses
@Razvan I agree with you ... i´d also like little bit more of choises - tuning your character like for example in Secret world (not getting stronger (bigger numbers) in general, but more specialised.) Let´s have faith in devs

RE: DOTs
@FallenW1ng You´re right, but the way dots work make them either too weak to specialise in them (Secret World) or too strong so everyone does (Diablo III, Path of Exile when burning could double dip). Balancing everything will be issue n1 in game with so many free choices. Im just curious.

RE: Upgradable Pets
@Xzoviac lets hope so....even if these were weaker than regular pets
-
RE: Primitive weapons
half health. double magic damage. double physical damage. etc.
Please dont
Being one shotted from invis would be no fun in full loot game.

RE: Upgradable Pets
In most games if you wanted to be 100% petmaster, you either sacrificed your offence or defence. In Path of Exile, most of you Yggdrasil skills were minion centered and rest had to go to some defence (or you could go hybrid, but suck at both), in GRIM DAWN all your skills, passives and actives from constellations and all equipment had to improve your pets - but then you were invincible ... but also unable to kill anything by yourself. So yes, why not add some debuff to such skills - something like "you can control more pets, but at the cost of your awareness - you cant check your surroundings as often" --->debuff to saves or something. Or direct debuff to your damage (but only if you pick more minions than 3 - aka only if you go full petmaster).
But no buffs for me, petmaster only does 3 things:
- runs away from danger
- debuffs enemy
- revives fallen pets
So I´d only give them debuff, or you only need to grab some slows and stuns and pets will do the rest - wouldnt be balanced 1v1 fight. And imagine 5v5 petmasters (aka 5v30 ) - moment everyone focus fires one dude, his dead.
Or make it possible to have 3 minions and three summons, but lower all pet´s damage accordingly (the more pets you have, the lower is their damage).

RE: Primitive weapons
@Jetah ...and also agains horizontal advancement
-
RE: Upgradable Pets
@Razvan point is more pets might be better as armour doesn´t reduce flat damage, but percentage damage. If ten weak hits hit just as well as three huge, I´d rather pick weaker ones, as one big pet can be kited, but probably not swarm of smaller ones ( in DII I rather used 3 dogs instead of 1 bear - he would hit harder, but not as often).
I think it should be more like a dog costs 1point, a wolf costs 4 points, a bear costs 10 points. At 20CHA you can have a maximum of 3 summons out with a total cost of 10 points.
Yep, I also hope it´s gonna be like this.

RE: Life leech on spells / enchants / buff abilities
@Razvan but what about oldschool mmorpgs like WoW that had class with life draining attacks - I´d let it stay in game, as it´s harder to use (if it´s aimed) and not as reliable as life regen or self heals (life leech spell might get resisted and you´re read). Imo it just needs balance as much as permastun possibility (high attack speed build with dual maces and high charisma).
-
RE: Upgradable Pets
@Razvan I admit that, but not due to fact that you have to have twice the hit chance than evasion rating to hit 85% of attacks, not all minion hits connect - thats why for example 2h weapons in WoW had such huge dmg compared to 1handed (2handed weapons had 3,2x dmg boost from strenght, 1 handed had like 1,7x if i remember correctly ... Fractured has same dps). So if your bear crits twice, he kills, but if he misses twice, you lost
Im only guessing, but in most games many weaker attacks >> fewer stronger ones.
-
RE: Life leech on spells / enchants / buff abilities
@Razvan If i remember correctly, devs stated you can chain stuns... which is IMO broken as the first guy to land aoe stun in team vs team situation wins the fight for team (even if SAVES are taken into consideration).

RE: Name OP ability / mechanic experienced in other pvp arpg/mmorpg/moba
@Gothix Im sure everything has some weakness. Now talking about it : In WoW I hated being frozen by mage without trinket (sure death without defence). Will i be able to get out of stun in Fractured btw ( i mean once Im stunned) ?
-
RE: Primitive weapons
@Xzoviac Sure, but ability will keep its power, it will just be little different (but not stronger or overall beter - it might have lower cooldown, but lower damage as well or so). But it would sure be nice to have dude specialised in one element. Personally im more interested how CC skills will change.

RE: Choice of music for towns
Hope noone will take anything personally, but:
Would it be possible to make a folder in which I´d load my favourite music (Diablo II ofc) and ingame I´d just check "Play custom music" and it would play? I know I can just turn on youtube or play it from pc (just like when I played the third game of Diablo series - GRIM DAWN
), but my system specs areaverage at best, those 30 fps I have are border below which I don´t want to get because of pvp (weird thing is lowest and ultra settings give me same dps). No matter, just idea

RE: Life leech on spells / enchants / buff abilities
@Razvan Paladin was long time the worst guy to pvp with, but with synergies and Grief runeword he become the best (smiter, foher and hammerdin were sure the strongest). So yes, it was totally imbalanced, some skills would even disable enemy character (amazon with missile slowing spell vs any projectile using character) ---> so in proper pvp some skills and items were banned and there were caps on stats (max resists, max move speed etc.). So you´re right, game wasnt pvp, but with rules it was awesome
I only mentioned Diablo, because i remembered DII v1,09 BvBers, who had VERY low healthpools, but twice dmg of regular pvp barbs and huge life steal. Even if you had 4x more hp, they would leech through your damage, aside trying to snipe them from afar with javelins, there was not much to do. Btw no barb / druid / paladin / amazon ever used anything slower than weapon that would give them max attacks. Dmg is king, but speed kills
